What if I’m with someone and I start pronouncing my words in a funny way? What if they notice something’s wrong with my teeth and can tell I’m wearing dentures? What if I leave my dinner plate untouched because I don’t think I can eat? What if I feel my dentures aren’t securely in place?
Life with dentures is full of “what ifs.” Fixodent® is here to help, with its strong hold and some helpful denture tips. Learn how to wear dentures with confidence.
- Be confident. Dentures can improve your facial appearance and self-confidence, help you speak better, and your ability to chew most foods. Dentures can only achieve this when paired with a strong adhesive. With the strength of Fixodent, you can keep your dentures firmly in place and avoid embarrassing slip-ups.
- Keep your dentures clean with a soft or ultra-soft toothbrush. At the end of the day, remove and clean your dentures with a soft toothbrush and do the same with your gums with a soft massage. This way, you’ll be sure to remove any particles. Refresh your mouth with an alcohol-free mouthwash. Also, remember to keep your dentures in a wet container when you’re not using them.
- Get Your Gums Checked by a dental professional. Once a year, check your gums with a dentist or prosthodontist. Even without natural teeth, your whole oral cavity can be subject to infections. A prosthodontist will be the best suited to solve complex issues like restoring used dentures or fabricating a new one.
- Use the proper amount of denture adhesive. A small amount of denture adhesive may help your dentures fit more securely, especially a lower denture. However, for dentures that might be older or seem particularly ill-fitting, don’t try to correct the fit of your dentures by using more and more denture adhesive. You should see your dentist or prosthodontist to improve the fit and comfort.
In the beginning, life with dentures might be an experience full of question marks, but we hope to have turned some of those questions into chances to embrace them with confidence.
